H from Helsinki
Helsinki is a city that radiates calm and precision, and one that never keeps its national colors to itself. The blue and white of the Finnish flag are reflected in its architecture, in its winters, and in the quality of light that feels different here than anywhere else in Europe. The H from Helsinki is inspired by that elegance: the stately buildings of Engel, the clarity of its street signage, and a Nordic restraint that never feels cold.

Gallery Quality paper
At WIJCK. we attach great importance to the quality of our posters and we like to combine our sleek design with a touch of nostalgia! The paper we use contains a combination of recycled cotton and wood-free ingredients. In addition, the paper is FSC certified. With a subtle relief, the paper gives the poster a classic yet timeless look.
Biodegradable ink
In addition to using sustainable and high-quality paper, the inks we use in producing our posters are biodegradable. These are made from natural, plant-based ingredients that can be easily broken down without harming the environment. In addition, our ink remains colorfast much longer than the usual inks due to the natural base.
FSC Wooden frames
Our frames also have a sustainable character. The wood of our frames is sustainably obtained from Italy and contains an FSC quality mark, which stands for wood obtained from responsibly managed forests. The frames are provided with a matte black finish and processed by hand at our frame maker in Zoetermeer (NL). The frames can also be ordered separately without a poster.

Helsinki is not a city that tries too hard. It simply is what it is, and that is more than enough. The Finnish capital has an architectural heritage that rarely receives the attention it deserves: the neoclassical buildings of Carl Ludwig Engel around Senate Square, the Art Nouveau facades of the early twentieth century, and the modernist landmarks of Aalto. It is a city that has repeatedly made deliberate stylistic choices and then followed them through with consistency.
The street signs of Helsinki fit within that same tradition. They are clear, highly legible, distinguished without being loud, and they are presented in two languages, Finnish and Swedish, as Finland is officially bilingual. That detail alone says a great deal about the Finnish approach to identity: inclusive, precise, and without unnecessary emphasis.
The H from Helsinki in the Typography Collection by WIJCK. brings those influences together with the color tradition of the Finnish flag: the deep blue and bright white that have represented Finland for more than a century. The blue refers to the lakes, of which Finland has more than 180,000, and the white to the snow. In the design, however, they become more abstract tones than literal references, colors of silence, openness and air.
Helsinki is a city for those who appreciate space, silence without emptiness, and design that does not impose itself. The H from Helsinki is a poster for those same people.
Available in multiple sizes, printed on high-quality paper.
